I sent a request on 12/30/2004 to VSC to expedite my case and yesterday I got the reply.

Here what they say:

" Upon receipt of your letter requesting expeditious handling, this matter was reviewed and a determation was made that it met the criteria for special handling.

The petition/application will be reviewed and you should be receiving notification from this office very shortly."

Does any one got this type of reply?

can you plzz share what criteria you listed in your request ?

I, for one, agree, that you deserve an EXPEDITE right away. Its just
outrageous that someone with your RD/ND is still waiting.

Having said that, do you mind sharing what criteria you listed when
you requested EXPEDITE ?

Would be very helpful, for people who seem to be almost resigned to the
idea of reaching your stage of delays.

Thx

wow, man waiting for 3 years for I-485 is crazy... :( You definetely should be given a priority in case review.

GL.

Dear Sumanta,

All I did just write all my & my wife detail about our I-485 case. It was a single page letter with a complete detail.

I do remember when I did the same request in year 2003 the reply was different.

As you see every thing is completed and I am not sure if there will be anything left other than to review and approve our case.

For those if their NAME CHECK is completed and if there FP is not close to expire, give it try to expedite your case.

BTW- I did not mention any criteria.

Hope it answer your question.

Congrats!

I did the same and was approved in less than a week. Hope there are no reasons for a transfer in your case.

Sumanta,
As soon as you get your FBI response, do this too ASAP.

Questions..plzzz

In the EXPEDITE request ,

1) Is it OK to supply( attach ) proof of FBI Name Check e-mail response ?

2) Is it OK to supply( attach ) proof of FOIP response received from FBI ?

3) What other documents need to be attached ? ( other than I-485 receipts
and Cast Status Enquiry responses )

4) If FBI Name Check e-mail response is unavailable, does an EXPEDITE Req
lack power/teeth ?

5) Is there anything in the FBI Name Check e-mail response or FOIP response
that may make it hard to do an EXPEDITE Req ? If so, what is it ?

I just mention the date it was cleared and sent back to VSC.2) Is it OK to supply( attach ) proof of FOIP response received from FBI ?

I did not request FOIP.
3) What other documents need to be attached ? ( other than I-485 receipts

I didn't send any documents but just the detail.4) If FBI Name Check e-mail response is unavailable, does an EXPEDITE Req

You do need the date on which FBI completed your Name Check.

5) Is there anything in the FBI Name Check e-mail response or FOIP response

Again once you get email from FBI that your name check is completed then all you need to do just mention the date it was cleared.

Can do nothing without FBI response to name check - Jan 02 case

It looks like we cannot do much without a response from FBI. I have sent several emails/faxes to FBI since last year. No responses yet....

see my signature for case details..

I got same exact reply for my request that I sent on November 30th for FP notice (I-485 ND 9/18/03). I haven't recevied any thing from USCIS.
What can I do next?????

Is the USCIS is sending the cases for FBI name check Randomly or with any criteria... I know some of my friends did not have any stuff like that...except FP.
Appreciate if any one could clarify

While I havent yet received any response from FBI to my e-mail for Name
Check status, I have received a NO RECORDS response to the FOIP Request.

Do you think its a good idea to attach this to my EXPEDITE Request to
VSC ? Or do I absolutely need Name Check e-mail reply from FBI ? What
good is the NO RECORDS in the FOIP Response anyway ?

Basically preparing the ground for an EXPEDITE REQUEST and gathering all
possible ammunition. Response(s) appreciated.

Hi Sumanata,

FOIPA requests differs from USCIS initiated checks. In USCIS checks a lot more criteria is applied to check for hits. They dont do the same for FOIPA. Thats why it carries no water with FBI when presented before them. I guess since u dont have the FBI email, do attach a copy of the FOIPA results to USCIS. If they(USCIS) expedite your application they will also send in a expedite request to FBI . This is the only option to expedite name check with FBI. Even senators/congressman cant do that and nor will they opt do that on yor behalf.

Cheers

Hi All

As you all already know that I am still waiting for my I-485 to get approve.

I applied for my AP in Sep' 2004 and I am planning to visit my family some time end of February, last week I sent an inquiry on my AP case and I got reply from VSC.

“The processing of your petition/application has been delayed. We are awaiting further information from another office to assist us in the final adjudication of this case. As soon as this information is received, processing will continue on this case.”

Now what this type of message means?

My I-485 was filed in May 2002. Last week I got an email from FBI that my name check was completed in October 2004. On Thursday (3 work days ago) I faxed an expedite request to Vermont, but I have not heard back any thing yet.

What is Vermont's turn around time? If Vermont decides not to act on your expedite request, do they atleast respond? And if yes, then does any one know their mode of response - email, fax or letter ?

I have got the same message too
