after passport stamping/I-94 question

People,

I was told to post my questions here (after posting in the I-485 forum) since I've just recently gotten my passport stamping.

1) Is the temporary stamp on my passport enough to be readmitted into the U.S. after travel abroad?
2) Must I give up my I-94 (departure record) when leaving the
U.S.?
3) Will the I-94 be asked of me in the future for any other purposes by port/immigration officials or employers/potential employers in the future? Do I need to keep a copy of the I-94 around for future documentation? (e.g., citizenship application, etc.)

Thanks.

Phoenix Saint.

Thanks JoeF,

Immigrations (INS) did not take my I-94 when I went for passport stamping. If they were supposed to and didn't how could that
affect me? Will it be a problem for me later when they're generating the actual green card? Will it in any way be a problem i
ssue with me?

Thanks
Phoenix Saint.

Thanks JoeF,

I heard somewhere that you get a "welcome" letter after passport stamping, but I still have not gotten anything.
My case status is still "This case has been approved...." and has
not changed to "card ordered...". I was approved April 16.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue? When should I expect to see case status change and also the "welcom" letter?

Thanks.
Phoenix Saint.

I did not get anything after the passport stamping. The on-line message remained unchanged until about 5 months later when it stated that they mailed my cards. I received the card 3 days later.
