I may be second guessing myself but I am not sure what the next step should be...
My brother-in-law's family is already GC, his sister sponsored him. I understand that after he has paid the immigration application fee (the $400 per person fee?) then he would receive a letter from NVC asking them to do the medical and gather police report etc..
I am sponsoring my brother, I received 2 letters from NVC, one is for $70 for "AOS Payment" and the second is $400 per applicant and is for Immigration Visa fee. I paid both via online payment. Based on the NOV web page, after the fee status shows up as PAID, I followed the link on the next step, hence I submitted the "Affidavid of Support", I also suggested my brother to follow the link under "Immigration Visa" to "Go to the Application Document Processing Instructions". However, upon review the document, my brother told me that he could not apply the police report because he would need to show the police department a letter from NVS detailing that he needs to provide the report.
Hence my question here...
Will NVC be sending out a letter to my brother including the checklist of what the next step would be? Based on what I read when I did the online payment, I should just check the status of the payment status, and as soon as it turns "PAID", I should just follow the instruction on the link " Go to ...", but now I am just now sure..
Note that on the NVC web page, it also stats "Do not take any action described above (refers to the Document Collection) without the authorization from the NVC. Taking action without NVC's authorization could result in a delay in processing".. My initial intrepretation of the "autoorization" was the link on the payment page..
Has anyone done the online payment for Immigration Visa? will you be receiving any letter from NVC for the follow up action?
