I plan to visit other another country outside of US this Summer. But I have question in the mind.

I plan to submit my N400 form next week. If everything is going smooth, I will have an oath before my leaving to other country. My question now is whether I can go to other country with my current Non-US citizen passport/Green Card? Or I have to wait for my US citizen passport once I have oath becoming a US citizen.

What's your comment?

Your green card will be taken away at the oath ceremony. As a US citizen you are required by law to use US passport for travel in and out of US. If you have immediate travel plans and need passport urgently you can make an appointment to obtain a US passport in as little as a day or 2 from the nearest passport agency. You can make an appointment as early as possible. You will have to prove urgency by showing proof of travel (ticket, itinerary, etc.)

Your current citizenship may or may not be valid after you become a US citizen and will be subject to visa requirements of any other US citizen.

Thanks for your information. Very helpful.

If I get approval of my citizenship in interview and test, my current citizenship, green card will be still valid if I haven't taken oath yet?

Generally how long you can get a letter or approval as a US citizen after the oath?

You become US right after the oath, you are given a certificate of naturalization right at the oath ceremony. There is no separate approval letter for citizenship.

You can retain your green card and foreign citizenship until the day of oath. If you are planning to travel after interview but before oath, you are required to report it to USCIS on the day of oath. Worst case you can postpone your oath if you have trave.l or other situations.
