im checking my online case status abt everyday it states

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On December 16, 2005, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 570 and 600 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

originally i filed my asylum case in san francisco then they transfer my case to nebraska service center..

Syedny, For me it took almost 11 months to get approved after I-693 medical. I had my medical March 2005 & finally got approved on Feb 09, 2006.
It's really hard to predict USCIS's work procedure since they don't maintain any standard processing procedure. For some it could even more & some less. But as far your I-693 medical RFI has been perfomed already along with the yearly 10,000 caps been lifted & the way USCIS is acting way faster than it used to in past I sure assume your file will be processed soon.
Good luck.

There is no "maximum" time in this field of immigration cases. It depends on your luck--the diligence of the officer assigned to your file how soon they can complete the background check on you.

Where you are from should not matter--well perhaps if you are from the muslim world they will need to be extra careful with your background check for obvious reasons.

I'm not really sure if region has anything to do with processing. It sure would be nice if not cause that will save lot of applicants from unnecessary delay which they have nothing to do what so ever.
As far my opinion it may really depends a lot on the IO who's in charge of your file. Now if the IO is active he/she can finish his/her job quickly but if not you pretty well guess what that could do to your case. But trust me if them IO's want they can process things very quickly unless you are not stuck in name check which I belive has got no control for them but FBI is the one conduct that procedure. Good luck my friend & I sure assume your IO is active enough to put you out of this misery in short time. I personally don't want nobody to go through this long waiting process like me & so many others.
Atique.
