My I-140/NIW petition was approved two days ago. I opted out for CP while filing the I-140 petition. I’m a Canadian and currently holding H-1B visa which is now in its fifth year.
I have following questions to ask:
1. Must I file I-824 with INS even though I already indicated in the original I-140 forms for Consulate Processing for change of status?
2. Can I apply for EAD card now?
3. What should I do next after receiving the mailed approved notice?
4. How could I know priority date for my case?
5. In addition to renewing H-1B yearly, is there any another method to keep legal status of employment while waiting for an immigration status change?
