I am married to my us citizen wife almost 4 years, we just filled out I-130, and I-485.

I read usbcis web site' if you are married to us citizen for 3 years you can apply for citizenship?

so if i get my I-130 approved and get aos, Can i apply right away for naturizalation because I am married 4 years? or do i need to wait 3 years after getting papers?

: ) There are a lot of people who would wish it were that simple to become a citizen.

You are eligible to apply for citizenship 3 years from the date you were granted Permanent Residency AND you have been married to the same USC during that time. So yes, you have to wait for 3 years after getting your GC and you must remain married to the same person for that length of time.
