After GC

After so many years in US, I am a little tired of the life here. Finally, I can pursuit my dream of travelling the world. Can any guru elaborate on rules when staying outside US after GC?

1) How long an inteval can I stay outside US? ( my understanding is 6 months consecutively. with a special card, it will be 2 years)

2) If I stay 6 months outside and back, how long do I have to stay in US before next long leave?

3) I heard that if stay outside for too long too often, GC may be confiscated at entrants, is that true?

4) What are the complications when later in citizen application if travel too often?

5) are there any documents on that?

Thanks

Thanks, i thought it is also beneficial to ask knowledgeable people here. I will move the post. :)

I did not mean to impose that you move the post. You can leave this thread here. Someone might come up with some suggestions. You might get some good responses in the other forums, though.

All the best.

I am not a guru but can try answering your questions based on what I know. You are right, earlier it used to be one year that you could stay outside and now it is 6 months . You can use the returning resident option if you want more than 6 months (what is the limit I dont know)

2) If I stay 6 months outside and back, how long do I have to stay in US before next long leave?
There is no defined timeframe for that, it just that you should be able to justify if you return and immediately go back
3) I heard that if stay outside for too long too often, GC may be confiscated at entrants, is that true?

Well, you will need to show collectively a stay of 5 years. In addition if you will need to prove that you never intended to abandon PR by travelling frequently

5) are there any documents on that? Try searching with a keyword. I am positive there are many available
