After GC Questions!

Guys,

I just got my GC and iam originally from india and not married..I have few basic questions:

1. Do i need to continue with the same employer for any specific period of time after getting GC, i mean is it mandatory?
2. What are my options for marrying an indian gal, other than gals who are already here on F1, H1B , GC or citizenship... ??

Her GC will go to family based category and that has waiting 5+ years (probably you will get citizenship before she goes to consulate for GC interview).

Why do i need to work for the company for 6 months after getting the GC, Can anybody explain the reason behind this?? -S
 
An employment greencard is always for a future job. Once having obtained the GC it is better to stay for a reasonable period of time with that employer to avoid impressions of fraud at time of naturalization. Reasonable time definitions are anything between 1 months to entire lifetime. Six months is said to be quite safe. Having said that this issue has always generated controversy on this forum.
