How long will it take for the case to be assigned to an officer after FP?

It looks like with all the security check and the new homeland security bill, I am guessng at least 6 months before the case is assigned after FP.

RD : 08/10/01
ND : 09/17/01
FP : 08/20/02
Loc : Columbus OH
 
These days it may well take one year or longer. I did my FP 10 months ago and still my files have at least a few months to wait before getting assigned.
The Homeland Security Bill is perdicted to delay things for an additional 6 months.
 
The fingerprints have

The fingerprints have little to do with the date of approval.. You might want to look at your RD.. My RD was 8/13/01 and my green card was approved Oct 18 2002 or something like that... Are you sure your dates are correct? they took a year to get your fingerprints??? wow that is kind of atypical... I got mines done like in april 2002.......
 
Lot of us in columbus got our FP notice very late compared to others in NSC.

My understanding is that the security check is done after the FP is done. So most applicants from columbus may have to wait a long time after FP for the case to be assigned to an officer.
