After CP, I-90 pending at TSC for more than one year

Hi,

I filed I-90 to correct my last name on green card in Sep. 2000 and have done the fingerprints in Feb, 2001. Recently, I contacted INS Dallas office and found my I-90 is not in their system. I went to INS in person to find a solution for this. INS just told me that " wait for another 6-8 months and don\'t send in a second I-90" and "no data in system means no card has been produced". Contacted congressman office and INS just responded that because of no I-90 pending in the system, they have no way to trace my card.

Is it normal that no I-90 can be found in the system till a card was processed? Does 14 months of processing sound reasonable for a replacement card ? If somebody has done I-90 before, please kindly share your experience.

Thanks a lot.

my experience:

I filed an I90 in person at the Dallas District Office on Stemmons (did the fingerprinting at the same time) because of a wrong DOB in May 2001. Nothing happened for 6 months. I decided to fax an inquiry to the TSC (the FAX# is on the INS web-site) and *voila* a week later I have a Notice of Action from the TSC with a SRC# and that it will take 30-60 days to approve the I90. I am now waiting for this approval and will post an update once I get it...
