Finally got all my documents off to Chicago last Friday, due to arrive there today. Is there an official website where I can keep track of its progress, or do I just have to wait to hear from them.

Best,

Tony

Now you have to wait for few days. For now you can basically just be checking if/when they cash your checks. After that they will send you some received notices with an MSC number, with that number you can go online to the USCIS website (direct to https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp) and sign up for an account, you can check any updates and sign up to receive an email whenever anything in your case changes. It's been very reliable for me, in fact, for my RFE I found out about it by email before we even got the letter BUT I've read many posts here that said that it's not updated too often.

You'll have to wait until you get the Notice of Action (Receipt Notice/NoA/797C) from them. There would be one each for I-130, I-485 and also for I-131 & I-765 if you've filed these too. Once you get these notices, you can create an account here and then add receipt nos to your portfolio to track them online.

If you are one of those super eager ones (like me :p) and if you have used checks for payments (USCIS stamps the receipt nos at the back of the checks at the time of encashing them), once these checks are encashed, you can view the receipt no on the back and use them to track your case... however, I must add that in the recent past, in some cases, the receipt nos stamped at the back of the check were slightly different from the ones that were on the receipt notice received later.

HTH,

I think you could also track it based on the kind of postage you used, I sed next day delivery and paid with money order.

Yu you get your notice letter from them by next week

Good luck
