Need some advice on a situation. I have an acquaintance who has completed 5 yrs on H1B and would move to H4 soon. I understand H4 status is linked to H1B primary being in-status thereafter but is there a time limit for H4 as well like its 6 yrs (excluding any LPR related extensions) for H1B or is there a combined H1b+H4 time limit?
Would the time spent on H1B impact the eligible time (if any) to stay on H4?
