I have filed for my I-485 in July 2000. Got EAD for me and my wife. Wife was earlier on H1 Visa. In August, 2000. My wife opened a company on EAD. We already have four persons working thru our company . ( Please note that no one is working in our company, No employee at present stage, Our company is a middle company ( B ) who took people from company A places them with end client thru company C. The company has good turnover in six months. The company is paying Federal as well as State taxes ) . The company plans to hire people too.

      VSC is glued to October 1999 cases for last 6-7 months. It seems to me that I will be getting I-485 in another 6-9 months time frame. My question is that CAN I JOIN MY WIFE COMPANY after 17 April, 2001 taking
advantage of new law. I have already completed more than 180 days after I-485.
    The question is posted on this board bcz. you get USEFUL suggestions from this board. I will discuss with my Attorney also.

According to S.2045 law, it clearly says that person is allowed
to switch employer after 180 days of filing I485(consider ND for worst case).
Good thing is, wait till Apr17,2001,after that if we change job
in similiar job classification code, then we are not liable for
any consequences, if INS not interpret in our favour.
As INS suppose to release regulations as they promised.
And we interpreted to our best knowledge in plain english as it says, that we can switch job.

my 2 cents...you should concern good attorney for you own belief.
