After 180 days can I work as consultant?

After completing 180 days of filing 485, if I get laid off, can I work as Independent Consultant in the same field on EAD?

I am also doing the same thing...
got laid off before 6 months only...

but you got to have a JOB...
working on EAD is OK.. only incase your I485 is denied.. then i dont know what happens.. but if you dont have a JOB is also a problem..

i am working on EAD because my H1-B expires in October this yearr...
