Since I don\'t have a birth certificate I was asked by my lawyer to provide an affidavit. Did anyone face a similar situation. I would like to know whom do you ask for the affidavit and can someone post a sample affidavit. Thanks so much..

Birth Certificate

I was born in India before 1969, and hence did not have Birth Certificate. I did submit Birth Certificate issued by Indian Consulate in NY. That did work for me and I got approval message without RFE.

I was born before 1969. Submitted Non Avail letter from consulate

stating that births/death registration was not in force in India before 1969. Also submitted 2 affidavits from relatives. Hope I have no problem.
