Along with the educational OR work experience requirement, there is a need to establish that your will not become a public charge.

Generally speaking, that can be shown with a combination of proofs and (I believe) other factors. So being able to show financial assets such as cash in a bank, ownership of property, stocks and shares, and ownership of salable assets such as cars etc are all useful. In addition documents such as a job offer in the States or having an well paid and employable profession would help. ALSO there is a affidavit of support (form I-134). That must be completed by a citizen or legal resident of the USA and is supported by tax filings etc. So the person offering the support must be able to support you. I believe the CO would also want to establish the nature of the relationship between the supporter and the applicant to see if it is reasonable that such support would be available.

If showing cash only then that cash should be around $10k per adult plus something (about half that per child) - so a family of four may be ok with around $20/25k, whilst a single applicant should show the $10k. If you are showing this in a bank statement you may need to show several months of statements to establish this is your money, not just there to print the statement.

Normally it is up to the applicant to present whatever proofs he/she wishes BUT it seems some embassies are not trusting bank statements and some are insisting on an I-134. I personally find that very odd because the I134 is a worthless document (the supporter cannot be forced to support the applicant) AND it means you must know someone in the States - but that is what has been discussed as a requirement in this forum (supported by required document lists from consular offices).

Hope that helps.

Thank you so much,i think inwill go will both affidavit of support and bank ststement to be on the safer side.thank you so much.
