Hi,

Is it possible to petition my 11 yr old sister together with my father?
My mother had recently passed away and I would like to petition my father and my (11 year old) sister but my income is only $25,000 a year. How can I use my husband's income to prove support? He is earning more than a $100,000 a year.

Thank you in advance.

Your 11 year old sister can not come at the same time as your dad. She is in a different category that requires a LONG time to be approved (10-15 years). So you may want to reconsider the whole thing... unless you plan to leave your little sister abandoned without a dad.

You have to file joint I-864. I think its 864 A. This is called co-sponsor.

Good Luck

PraetorianXI - is right. If you file today it will take 10 years to join your sister with you/father. However you father might be able to come US within 1 year. And then if you father(GC holder parent) applies for her it would be musch faster, might be in 5 years. In that case your father has to maintain US GC.

Yeah, you husband or any US citizen can be co-sponcher with you in that case you need to file I 864 and he/she need to file I 864A.

hope this will help.
