hi,

Me and my daughter have been taking medcaid from state. She was born here and I was not working so I took it. I am still not working and still on medicaid. I will be filling the AOS with a joint sponsor. I have been living with that relative and he even claimed us both on his tax return. He confirmed from IRS that he can claim us even if we are taking medicaid. Even though i never used the medical for myself I am still registered.

Now I am paranoid thinking if my AOS form will be accepted or not based on that I have been taking medicaid and have a joint sponsor.
I was told by someone about some person who did not get approved because he was taking state aid even with co-sponsors.

If this can have a negative effect, can I cancel my medicaid now and would that help. Or would NVC think I have done it now becuase of AOS

Please let me know your opinion.

Thanks

The second document above clearly mentions that Medicaid is a Benefit NOT subject to Public Charge Consideration, so you should be okay. Please read the documents in detail and see if it fits your situation. Also, a consultation with an Immigration lawyer may help if you knwo of a good one ( hard to find )

good luck!!
