Hi All,
My family (including me, of course) immigrated to the US in 1992. We all returned to India in 1995. My father and my younger brother (who is 18 years old) gave up their green cards; but, my mother and I retained GC\'s by coming to the US once in a year. I am now in Sunnyvale, CA working as a Software Engineer...
Now, here\'s the real issue. My mom came here for a visit a few months ago and re-applied for my younger brother\'s GC. She just received Form I864 to her Indian address. The visa call has now come under category F2A. There is also a provision for joint affidivit in form 864A. My question is whether I can be the "sponsor", i.e. whether I can show my bank balance instead of my mom\'s. Any help greatly appreciated! I am also willing to consult an attoryney to clear these lingering doubts in my mind...
