Affidavit of Support by my wife?

Hi -

I am currently a F-1 student. My wife, a US citizen, has filed an I-130 petition for me and I am going to file an I-485 for myself. My question being what documents should I file for the affidavit of support? My wife has to support me but she has no income. I have tax return and W2 and everything under my own name for 3 years and we only have a joint tax return for one year, 2003.

Seems you will need a co-sponsor as your file who is filing your petioner has no income. You should be ok as long as you file taxes togather, but, you will need to download I864. Please read the instructions for this on the uscis website. You will basically need a resident or US citizen who can sign this on your behalf of the case. That sponsor along with his family and you both should have an income to support you all. Please see the poverty guidelines on the uscis website as well and you will get all the info.

yes you are going to need a joint or co-sponsor

you need someone who has enough income going back three years.

that co-sponsor can be anyone.
