Advise need, RFE response

Please advise me...Early on I had posted about my strange RFE. Please refer to the following URL for details. Basically my status changed to RFE issued on Aug 4th. Then changed to RFE response recd by BCIS on Aug 18th. However neither my lawyer nor my employer nor myself recd any RFE notice between the date issued (Aug 4th) and date recd (Aug 18th). I have confirmed this with all of them. I have been in touch with my lawyer since then. My lawyer said he will call BCIS and find out the status. Today when I called my lawyer's office i was told since it is difficult to get a hold of IIO they couldn't get a feedback. Is that true? I have seen from this forum people getting through to talk to IIO. I was little skeptical about me calling them directly and thought let the lawyer office make the phone call. At the same time time is running out as my FP expires on end of this month and I am gone to India for a week from next weekend. Is it a good idea to wait for the lawyer to make the call or should I go ahead and call anyway. I have never called BCIS before so I didn't want to mess up the case by unintenionally giving out some wrong info.

Seems you don't trust your lawyer very much. Is it possible the lawyer forgot to submit some documents and then replied RFE but doesn't want to let you know?
You can go to your local BCIS office and try your luck.
Another way is to let your lawyer write an letter to BCIS.
 
Just called BCIS. Spoke to a lady who was rude. She didn't even ask for my case details. It was a general talk without me giving any identity about myself. I explained to her about the situation and she didn't understand. She asked me to wait atleast 14 days to get the letter?? Tried explaining again that two weeks after RFE was issued the status changed to RFE response received while none of us have received any letter from BCIS. She kept saying wait for 2 weeks to get the letter. Well I didn't want to argue with her.

My lawyer doesn't give any room for me to trust him... For instance my lawyer's office kept saying it was difficult to get to talk to IIO. So I called up today (my first time). After 10 mins of wait I was able to talk to an IIO. It seems my lawyer's office is going to write a letter.
