A person that I know has filed thru NSC and has completed 10 months since RD.

He plans to move to CSC and also inform INS and use AC21 to shift jobs.

Question - will INS assign a new WAC to his case ? or will his case be moved to CSC under the same old LIN number allocated by NSC ?

Based on what I read on this board...

rsrgc,
When people move accross service centers there is a possibility that the case also
b may
be moved (it depends on service center that is processing the case). I don\'t think one can request to move the case though! I am guessing that prior to AC21 a case filed solely based on current residence (which is changed) is transferred based on new residence.

The bad thing in this is, normally it won\'t happen when address is changed! Rather when the case is assigned to officer for approval that\'s when the officer decides that the case should be transferred and there is no guarantee at the other service center that some one will look into that case immediately! They may let that case spend another term at their service center! I also heard very scary stories where the case spends few months in the transit and no one seems to be able to help in finding the status! Case may be transferred to local INS (based on new address) for interview too, rather than transferring to service center again.
