Please excuse me for posting in this forum . But am eliciting different responses. Please suggest.
I am currently on bench for about a month now. I am planning to leave for India based on the current job market and come back when the market picks up. My employer does not pay on bench. I came to know that you can still get a paycheque for 0$ claiming unpaid vacation or leave for this one month of unpaid time.
Is this possible. If I do not get a paycheque will I be considered out of status assuming i go back home for a while and a worst case scenario for one full year. Does the INS ask for latest pay stubs when you come back after an year or file a new H1 with a different company. How does unpaid vacation work. Any insights/help will be extremely useful
