Advice needed in bringing wife to USA

Hello everyone, looking to get some advice as to what I should do and what would be the best route.

Just a little background of my situation. I am a USC, my father and mother live in Paraguay, South America who are also USC ( my current location. ) I got a call from my mother one day saying that my father was very ill and I needed to get there as soon as possible. I immediately quit my job and broke my lease and was on a plane 2 weeks later.

It is now 2 years later, and I recently got married to a Paraguayan citizen 3 months ago. My father is now free of illness and I am ready to return to the USA to resume my life with my new wife in hand. I called the US embassy here in Paraguay to see what I needed to do and they told me that I needed to file form I-130 which has a processing time of 8-10 months.

They told me I would have to submit the form at a USCIS office in the USA as there are none here in Paraguay and that I could do so via snail mail since I am in Paraguay.

Now I have a few questions hopefully someone can help me with here.

-As I stated earlier I dropped everything in the USA. I have no residence there, no job. Will I need proof of residency and income in the USA to petition for my wife? Or will that not matter until she gets approved.

-Is there anyway to go around the 8-10 month wait and get a temporary visa, a tourist visa, or any other kind of visa so that I can travel with her to the USA now and once we get there file a I-485 and a I-130?

-Any special privileges me being a US Marine for 6 years?

Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide me.

Congratulations on getting married. Now my answers in blue below.

You can come on a visitors visa and then apply for her. Can it work? Yes! But technically it is fraud and can come back to biter her in the behind through the doctrine of prior intent.

-Any special privileges me being a US Marine for 6 years? Unfortunately No. Thank you for your service though, heartfelt

Thanks for the quick reply. Hmmm, not so sure I want to take the chance with a visa fraud charge. What about a k-3 visa? Would that be a shorter wait than petitioning I-130?

Again, thanks for your quick responses.

Edit: At what stage in the process will I need to provide proof of residency and income?
