Hello, I am over 21 years old, I've never been married, and I don't have any kids. I am a Canadian citizen, and I will be on TN Status until 2023. I entered US legally, and I've been working here for a few years. My mom is a US citizen, so my question is should I even bother applying for a green card and start the process?
My understanding is that the process will take 8-10 years. I don't know if I can trust any lawyers because I honestly think they will make it seem like I have nothing to worry about and I should just start the process, so they can make money from processing my paper work. My main issue is that once my TN Status is up after 3 years, what am I going to do? I won't be able to renew my TN. Will I still be able to stay or work in US? I am sure it could be another 7 years, what's the legal process or what would I do for those 7 years while I wait for my green card? It seems like I should just stay on TN and keep renewing it for as long as I can. Any advice would be great, thank you.
