Advice for PIO card

Dear friends,

Do I need to send my original passport for PIO application?

I am not comfortable sending out my passport. Hence, I wanted to double-check.

You do not need to send the original passport for the PIO card. I applied for my daughter. But if you need to cancel your Indian passport then you should be sending it.

Also I sent my old passport for renewal through mail and I got both (old cancelled and new) within 3 weeks. No problems.
