Advanced Parole for "Out of status" candidate

If I had been out of status for a while, should I even bother to apply for Advance Parole?

Would I be let back into the country if I happen to use it and leave the country?

Maybe you should't. It depends on how long "awhile" is, when this occurred, and other factors.

Hi Jim,

sorry to jump in with my question.

I dont know if you read my situation in other threads, but briefly:

1) I got I-485 approved in Sep 2001 (I was in Canada then)
2) for family reasons I could not make it back to US before AP expiry.

Can I apply for a new AP (renewal) after I-485 is approved?
