Advanced Parole approved from VSC Center(AD 12/30/2002) - Required Clarification on how Advanced Pa

[I485 applied Dec 2001]

I just received Advanced Parole from VSC Center(AD 12/30/2002). I received three pages with photos on 2 pages and one page without photo. I would like to know how Advanced Parole works.On return from home country does one page of Advanced Parole needs to be left with the Immigration officer. If not what does the immigration officer do.Does he just put the stamp on it and return so that the same page can be used again and again.
Please provide info. on above if anyone has prior experience.
