Hi,
My wife in India currently and going to come back to USA using her Advanced Parole.

her h4 visa stamp on her passport is expired, is it a criteria for AP to have an active stamp

will there be any problems?

Thanks
Deepesh J

The advance parole is for entering the country without a visa. So you are fine. The AP means that you are in AOS and that they are allowed to enter the country without a visa.

what about mumbai authorities

I heard the guys who check the passport at the ticket counter in mumbai are real jerks... if there is no valid visa stamp.. .they are like u cannot go and all the stuff

Travel on AP

I came back last weekend from Delhi on Advance Parole. This is my second Advance Parole & third travel on Advance Parole.

At Airport, you need to show the Original Advance Parole to the Airlines counter & to the Immigration Officer... they will ask for it if the VISA is expired.

Please carry all originals

of AP (and also originals of GC approval notice if travelling with just the GC stamp on PP and no plastic).
Checking in at Chennai airport was a breeze, but it took us over an hour (after they double checked it and sent us to supervisor et al.) to get out of JFK last week when we came back after vacation.
Guess it would have been easier if we just had the physical plastic card with us.
Incidentally, our plastic cards have just been ordered on 10th December.
