Guys,
Can anyone tell me how long is it taking to get AP from the local INS (HARTFORD, CT). I did not apply along with the 485 app., and I have to travel to India next month. Could someone give me an input at the earliest please.

hey..

i applied for ap on March 15th and got approved from INS vermont on April 12th. typically i guess its taking 30 to 45days.

you can always get an emergency parole from the local INS office. it takes usually day to get that.

Thanks sk_74. Could you tell me what is it that I have to show for the emergency reasons. I am planning to go next month. So do I have to wait till then or can I do it now? My RD for 485 is 07/09/01. It would be great if you can give me an insight on this.

you can show them some letter from a doctor that an immediate family member is not well and you have to go. thats one choice.
you don\'t have to wait. usually a parole is valid for 1 year( typically).
