Advance Parole

I and my wife filed our I485 more than a year back. My wife needs to travel to India soon. She just applied for Advance Parole. Is the AP compulsory to travel to India. My H1B (6 years) exipres in June this year.

Can she travel without AP. She will need to be out of the country atleast for 6 months.

Please let me know

Well she can leave without AP but she will need AP to re-enter if her H-4 will expire during her stay in India.
You MUST apply AP rightnow and get it approved while she is IN US and she shud take that document with her.

Bottomline GET AP ASAP and ofcourse if she's coming back before June 04, which is when ur H1 is expiring and I'm assuming that her H4 is valid till that time also, then she won't need AP.
