Advance Parole taken at entry

Hello,

I had two Advance Parole documents - and one was kept by the officer at entry and the other was stamped and given back to me with a date of one-year from the date of entry. Is that typical of them?

Also, will I need to apply for another Advance Parole if I want to leave the country and come back? And if so, does that mean that I will have to pay $305 again for filing fees?

In the instructions of filing for I-131, it states that if you have a I-485 as of 7/30/07 (which I do), I do not need to send any fees. I am just trying to understand this statement correctly from people who have used an AP for re-entry and had to file for another AP.

Thanks in advance

Your AP is valid for 1 year. The POE officer normally does keep 1 copy of the document and gives you another stamped copy. If you need to leave the country and return (within the year that the AP is valid) just use that already stamped AP to re-enter.

Now the validity of the AP is till the date of the stamp OR the date mentioned on the AP when I recvd it upon its approval?

Thanks
