advance parole question

Can you please answer my AP question.

I recently took AP. They only gave 2 copies. Will they take 1 copy while I leave US and stamp the other while I reenter? Any comments will be appreciated
Thanks

Now a days they are giving only two copies (in security paper). While leaving they dont take any of it, while re-entering they take one copy and give you the other one.

My Experience with AP.

You get two copies. However give only one to the Immigration Officer. He will take it and stamp on it ( just like they do on I-94) and give it back to you. Additionally he will also give you an I-94.
Both will be stamped with "Paroled until MM-DD-YYYY POE").

Each AP is valid for 1 time. Also, if you are entering on AP there is a possibility of second interview. This is usual procedure. In addition to meeting the Immigration officer as usual, you will be asked to meet another immigration officer. They may ask you some questions or they may just stamp your AP and I-94 and let you in. So, as a backup, take the previous W2s and recent paystubs.

Hope this helps.

I received 2 AP (originals with photo) in Dec 02 for my wife and three APs (originals with photo) in Jan 03 for myself. I would think that even if you get one - that should be enough for one trip.

Huh?.. Generally, an AP document is valid for multiple entries within the period of its validity (think of it as a replacement for a visa). Each time, both the AP and your passport are stamped. Granted, it's possible to get a single-entry AP, but I can't think of a reason for doing so.
All holders of AP's and temporary I-551 stamps are subjects to the so called "secondary inspection". That normally takes place in the INS quarters at the POE. Your identity and the authenticity of the entry documents are verified. Sometimes (not always) the parolee is asked to produce a copy of the EAD and/or other documents confirming his/her legal status.
