Advance Parole Question

My wife is in India and she has a Advance Parole which is valid till March-05. She is returning back next weekend. Before she left, our attorney filed for new Advance Parole because the existing is expiring soon. Well, I received the new approved Advance Parole documents (valid till 10/14/05) in the mail yesterday.

My question is, does the issue of new Advance Parole document invalidate the existing Advance Parole. If yes, I will have to send/fax her the new Advance Parole document.

No it does not invalidate the old one.

What is the date(begin date) of the new AP?
coz, in my case when I applied for a new AP, which was like 4 months before the old AP expires.... I was given a new AP with a begin date, the same date as my expiry date of my old AP.

There is no Begin date on the document. The Date Issued is 10/14/04 and is Valid till 10/14/05. The old AP has the validity till March-05.

My understanding from other threads is that you have to be back on the same AP that's valid and current when the person leaves US.

When was your RD for the latest AP? I have applied for my 2nd AP on 9/29/04 and haven't gotten yet.

The RD on our latest AP is 8/18/04. The current processing date for AP is 9/22/04. You should be receiving your approval soon.
 
I've been in a similar situation as yours....
My current AP expires in Dec 2004, in June I received AP that starts in Dec 2004 to Dec 2004.
Even though I had new AP in hand, I traveled back in Sept on my old AP and came back...

Thanks for your reply. From your experience, I guess my wife should not have problem coming back on old AP.
