i have the AP application pending in VSC. i filed it in dec. currently they are processing oct 9. looks like it will take long time to get that approved.

is it possible to get the advance parole by going to local ins office while your AP application is pending in VSC.

i know u can get iEAD while yr EAD appln is pending. is there something like that for advance parole?

Yes you can go to local office to get AP. Unlike EAD you can go to the local center even without applying to VSC. But the centers implement the policy differently- if you can prove some kind of emergency- they would give it early- else they have a prescribed time. The website of the local center would indicate policy and time frame.

Immediate Travel Document

Any one got the emergency travel document from the local office, if so mention from which place and what are the documents we need to bring to the local office !!!

interim AP

Our AP was also pending for 4 months and I had to go to India. I sought and obtained an interim AP from the local office. I had to to do the following in this regard.
1) Complete another AP application
2) two photos
3) old AP
4) the pending AP's INS reciept
5) A letter stating why you need a interim AP (I stated that I have to visit India and need an AP now for getting a German transit Visa).
The local office mailed my interim AP valid for an year to my house in two days time.
Hope this helps.

re: AP in local office...

... could you tell me to which office did you go? did you produce any proof of emergency?

cheers:)

Unlike EAD there is no concept of interm-AP. The AP that you get is like a normal AP- with 1 year validity. You do not need a pending AP with BCIS to apply locally -> however some local centres ask for it.
The documents are the same that you needed when you apply for AP with BCIS.

Ved,
I went to the office in Portland, Maine. No I did not provide anything to prove the emergency. As stated before I gave INS a letter stating my travel plans and the transit visa situation.
