Advance Parole Question

Hello All,

I am in a bit of a fix with regards to my Advance Parole Application. I hope someone can clarify the options that I have.

This is my 3rd Application for AP and the submission date was Jan 15th (VSC). My AP is expiring on May 14, 2004 but my b-in-law's marriage has been fixed for mid-May so I would like to attend that for sure. By looking through some of the posts in this forum it seems that the whole process is taking about 3-4 months right now. What are my alternatives - can I go to the Boston District Office and apply for an AP after 60 days?

Can someone let me know please?

Thanks in Advance

Here are my filing details:
ND: March 28th, 2002
RD: March 7th, 2002
2nd FP done in Jan end.

You can go to the local office anytime. I don't think- unlike EAD- you have to have the AP pending. Different offices may have different policies and also issuing timeframes- check their website.

Hi sb_tiger,

Thanks for your reply.

Don't I have to wait for 2 months or something like that after the application date to personally go and apply? What happens to my earlier application from Jan 15th '04 if I personally go and apply for another AP? Also if I go now how long will they issue the AP for since I plan to travel only at the end of April.

TIA

Normally there is no iAP, so at the local office, u submit the application and fees and get the AP. Atleast that's what happened for my wife, though at the same time, she got iEAD [interim EAD for 8 months, no fees]

Any experience about AP in New york city.

Can we go to newark even if we are not staying in NJ.
