Advance Parole (Is it required?)

I have an EAD, but never applied for Advance Parole. My question is, do i really need the Advance Parole if i already have an EAD which is not being used yet.
Or i need to have the Advance Parole only if i need to travel abroad?

If you are using EAD to work, then you need an AP to come back to the US if you are going out of the US

Not required if Visa in your passport is still valid

Since you are not wokring on EAD, it is not required to get Advance Parole. But the Visa in your passport has an expired date (i.e. do not have the visa stamped against the latest H1-B approval), then you either need to have Visa stamped against the latest approval of H1-B on your passport or you have to use Advance Parole. The choice is yours
