Obviously you are giving way more importance to an aberrant as compared to the statistical norm. As you can see from the majority of posts here, people have had a great time with AP admissions!

According what I know every airlines flying into US check your
visa before they let you board the flight. If you are travelling on
AP sometimes they keep copy of it.

My original post
in case they do ask for the AP, they are satisfied with a copy. ALWAYS ALWAYS carry multiple copies of your AP when you travel

And your point is?

Hi Folks,

Can you suggest me what to do in following case...!!!

1) AP will expire in July '2004.

2) Planning to visit India from June '2004 to Aug '2004.

a) If I get my AP renewed, Can I use my old AP(valid till July '2004) to go to India and new AP (Valid from July '2004) comeback to U.S.?

Thank you in advance....!!!

Usually Airlines don't ask for AP's just I-94, in case they do ask for the AP, they are satisfied with a copy.

Your above post tells that 'airlines usually don't ask for AP'.
My point is that airlines do ask for AP/Visa before they let you
board the flight.Remember as I mentioned in my previous post in
this thread we are talking about entering US on AP.
In your above reply you are talking about AP and I-94 together.
While coming back you will not have I-94 and it is airlines responsibility
to check for visa/AP otherwise US will make the airlines pay penalty
for bringing any person to US without a visa/permit/AP or whatever.
Just trying to clarify.

Thanks

 Makes sense! Sorry about the confusion.

BTW are you helping with the fax campaign to Congressmen/Senators? Don't forget to send a fax to your Congressman with the petition to work towards speedier approvals. For further information please click on the link in my signature.

Marais,
Apply for a new AP in the next couple of weeks, you should get it before June, once you get your new AP (valid for a year), you can easily leave the country and return on it.

FYI, you cannot use an AP issued after your departure from the country while re-entering the country. You need to have your AP you plan to use for re-entry in hand before entering the country. Any other way is grounds for rejection at port of entry.

As you have enough time before your trip, no harm in waiting for your new AP.
