I need to travel to India for a emergency matter (grandmother in her last stages). I need to get advance parole based on emergency matter. I have her medical reports & the letter sent by parents stating her present condition. I also have the photos with me.

what document do I need to show as proof of relationship to the immi officer.

Check the back page of your passport, which may have your mother's name? Otherwise, I would make an affidavit by myself and get it attested. You can fax this material to a 800 number. I do not remember the fax # but if you call the CIS customer service number, listen to the instructions and get it from there. If there is a USCIS office closer to where you live, I would also schedule an appointment thru "Infopass".
