My advance parole is going to expire in 3.5 months. When should I apply for an extension? Can I do it on my own or do I have to go thru the lawyer who initially filed my first application?
You can file all by yourself. It is probably safe filing at least 3 months in advance for both the EAD as well as Adv Parole. Lately though, things are a little faster than what it was 6 months ago.
With regard to the EAD, it would be safe if you go through the lawyer, and it takes anywhere between 30-60days.
AP, you can apply by yourself, enclose the check for $95 and it will take less than a month.
