I entered on Advance Parole last week after 4 week vacation. AP says that if it is presented before 15th April 2005 I can enter the country. Immigration officer has stamped the AP ....paroled until Dec 18th 2005.

Do I need to apply for another AP soon or can I keep using until Dec18th 2005. I understood AP document was for one year from the date it was approved, or is it we should go by paroled date?

thanks
raju

It should be April 15 only. So apply for the new one if you are planning to travel after that date.

any problem on entering on AP

Rajudm,
my wife and son are coming today through Newark on AP... can you share your experience of entering on AP... specially if there was any problem...

no problem....(need to have to original AP, I485)

It is straight forward, only slighly delay if secondary inspection room is over crowded.

They would like to see the original I485, and may get asked some stupid questions...like on what basis you have pending I485.

I got asked a ridiculous question....'Australian national born in India, How long did you stay in Australia, Are you upto collecting citizenships?'

It should have been none of his concern but need to be cool when asked that kind of question. (In my mind I said to myself...ofcourse I am waiting to collect US citizenship to my collection..). :D :D First we have to wait for lazy USCIS officials to approve I485 :( :(

UnitedNations thanks!

Thanks once again for your answer. Atleast now we should be careful with POE dates.

They are still doing it...

Yesteday my son and Wife came through Newark and they stamped the AP till 22nd Dec 2005... although their AP is valid till some day in July....
No clue why they do it like this... the only thing I see is that the expiry date is a part of stamp rather than writing by pen....

12/22/05 is the validity of I-94; you cannot use this AP after July-05- need to get a new AP; just that the Dec-05 date helps one in getting D/L etc; Also i beleive they have implemented the new I-94 system from Dec-04 in which the document is printed rather than hadwritten as in past
hope this helps

485 original receipt

I485 original receipt is needed at POE. If you haven't got it...need to get it from your attorney.

I wasn't asked for Original

I came back on AP in last week of Nov in Newark... Didn't have original/copy of 485 and wasn't asked about it too. Also the parole officer stamped for 6 months i.e till end of May 2005 although my AP is valid till Jun 2005.

They still wrote it by hand

The Immigration officer at POE Newark still put the date on I-94 by hand... they have not started the printed one.. till Dec 23rd... I don't know after that...
