Can someone shed some light on my question..

We(me & my wife) received our EAD and AP in April,\'02. Stamping in our passport expires on Sept 30, 2002. My wife will be going India and would like to complete her remaining residency (8 months) from August this year.

Can she use AP while returning from India after 8 months? how many months she can stay outside of USA?

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
 
AP is valid for one year

If you received your AP in April 02, it should be valid till April 2003. You can stay outside as long as you want provided you return before April 2003. When you re-enter, your new I94 will be valid for one year from the date of re-entry.

This is based on my experience. My wife received her AP in August 2001 and it was valid till Aug 2002. She went to India in April 02 and came back in June 02. Her I94 was stamped until June 03. Her visa stamp had expired in May 2001.
