Adoption on I-485 pending

I am currently on EAD, I-485 pending. I am from India. I want to adopt a baby from India. Can I adopt on my status and bring the baby here? Or can I adopt a baby in U.S? Please let me know the process.

We are unable to have babies on our own and thinking of adopting.

Please help and advice.

If you're not a US citizen, you need to have lived with a non-US adopted child for 2 years before you can bring them to the US. So forget about that for the next 5+ years.

But when you have a green card, you may be able to adopt a child who is a US citizen or green card holder. Check with the specific requirements of your state's laws.
