I am a physician who has completed 3 years of service in underserved area and presently on Adjustment of Status. I had a NIW approved and decided to apply for adjustment of status after completion of 3 year service requirement. However, I recently go another I-140 approved (based on labor certification). Is it possible for me to apply for consular processing now (based on the newly approved I-140) and get the green card much faster, rather than wait another 1.5 years to complete the 5 year service requirement of NIW and then apply for final adjudication of I-485 (Which might take another one year). Any suggestions or thoughts would br greatly appreciated. Has anyone come across a similar case and how was it handled. Thanks in advance.
