Recently clients appeared at the INS office in San Jose for ADIT stamping based on I-485 approvals from the CSC. They were provided with temporary I-551 stamps that were valid for 6 months rather than the standard 1 year that the INS had been giving. Clients were advised that because the manufacturing time for the actual Green Cards has been reduced, there was no longer a need for the temporary stamps to be valid for a full year. We have asked INS for further information regarding this new policy and will post further information when we receive it.
