On August 12, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. ADIT processing involves another appointment with a local USCIS center where they may take your photo and fingerprints again, and then stamp your passport with a temporary I-551 indicating that you are now a lawful permanent resident. If you are in an employment -based category, it is more likely than not that you will not need to do this (i.e. your card will just come in the mail).
