Hey Guys,

One last question before I go for interview tomorrow morning to sing the Spiral Spangled ...

I was checking my tax documents, for 2003 and 2004 taxes I have old address while for tax document 2005, 2006 and 2007, I have the present address. Even while doing the GC, I have used the present address (my aunt's address and most of my mail came in this address...). Not sure if they will make a fuss about the old address that is not in N400 for those years? I used present address throughout in N400... Should I correct it tomorrow? Or should I just ignore it?

Thanks guys for all the help...

Hey Guys,

Not sure if they will make a fuss about the old address that is not in N400 for those years?

Making a fuss on this issue would depend upon the officer's mood. Some don't care, while others make it like a "crime scene"...If I were you, I would rather correct the address information for those years on N-400 so that it would never come to haunt you in the future. Otherwise, either the interviewing officer or supervisor or any other officer in the future might find you having misrepresenting to govt based upon these two contradictory information. They would question that either you have lied to them about your address for those years since it doesn't match with your tax records, or you lied to IRS on tax forms. You might have a valid explanation, but on govt. papers address should match in order to have consistency on what information you are providing to them...They will go based upon what is on the record than taking your words alone. So, it's better to correct them to avoid any problem...

Good luck...

I have a question from you, didn't you report those addresses on N-400 (that last 5 years address which you lived?)
You didn't mention anything about them on N-400?

I don't think it should be a big deal. Unless as Johnny said, it depends on the Office's mood of the day.

I did not report that address and provided the present address as the address... I used to have all mails mailed in the present address even when I was living in the apartment.. I somehow, for tax filing did not use this address for those two years and noticed only today when I was doing the photo copy. I think I should do what Johhny suggested. I will fill in another N400 and tell the interviewer about my mistake.

People do have mailing addr that differ from their residence. So you should probably let this one go.

You may think you are tying to cover all bases and your behavior in this forum is quite amusing but try to be as regular as possible for the IV. Neither too stern nor too funny -- be casual.

Don't get too hasty or rash in your quest for the "Spiral Spangled".
