Hello,
My passport is up for renewal. I plan to switch from AOS to counslar processing once my I140 gets approved. Hopefully it might get approved in another month.
My address in India changed from Mumbai to Chennai as my family changed residential location.
I believe the Mumbai counslate gives interview based on just the receipt #. However the Chennai counslate provides interview only if the I824 gets approved and they get the case details. (Correct me if I am wrong). Hence it seems like going for Mumbai counslate seems advantageous. Thus I am hesitant to provide the Chennai address.
If I decide to just continue with the Mumbai address in my passport renewal,
1. are there any risks?
2. Does the counslate send any letters to the address mentioned in the passport?
3. Can I provide some other contact address other then the one mentioned in the passport for the counslate to maintain correspondence in India?
4. Would I have to take some sort of proof of local Indian address while going for the interview?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
