address change

The N400 forms asks for address where you live and a mailing address. Will switching apartents after filing N400 delay my application? The mailing address will not change, only the apartment where I live. I am planning to give the mailing adddress of my brother's home, who lives in the same city.

In the case of pj007 -she gave her mailing address as the address of her sisters. Then she is planniing to move from her present apt to an different apt which effectively has not changed her claimed mailing address in the first place. So there is no need to inform BCIS the change of her apt no. Now if she can claim her sisters address as her mailing address is the real issue.

I myself have given the BCIS my P.O.Box as my mailing address. There has been no problem at all so far. I got the interview letter to my PO box address. I have visited BCIS , New Orleans every month to enquire about my oath ceremony more than 10 times since passing the interview 15 months ago(02/28/2002) and make sure my file is not lost and my address still shows up as the one I gave years ago(the PO box address). I have written some corrrspondence with BCIS from my PO box and BCIS never questioned me at all.

Remember no one lives at a PO box address.

So pj007 has no problem and should expect no delays even after she changes her apt no.

deportation/citizenship processing/address changed.

Address changed does not affect the processing time.

But the issue is > "address change notification violation" will make you DEPORTED from USA, believe it or not.

It is the NEW rule(though it was for a long time , but this rule is now strictly maintained)

-------

If anyone changed his mailing address/residing address it should be notified to INS/BCIS immediately by certified mail though it will not affect the processing time.

One person(except US citizen) will be deported immediately regardless of immigration status if he will not notify to INS/BCIS regarding his "RESIDING address" .

BE AWARE OF THAT

go to here & download the form & mail it

Good luck to everyone
